CARE STARTS WITH TRUST
Safety, at every step.
Practical precautions for customers and providers arranging a house call.
Before a visit
- Confirm who will attend, the service, arrival time and the total price, including travel and materials.
- Do not assume a profile photo or work example proves identity, qualifications or safety.
- Tell someone you trust about the appointment. Where possible, have another adult present for a first visit.
- Providers should confirm the job scope and location before travelling, and tell a trusted person where they are going.
During the appointment
Check that the person arriving matches the person you agreed to meet. Keep valuables and personal documents secure. Discuss hygiene, tools, products and any relevant sensitivities before work starts. Both parties may stop a visit if they feel unsafe.
Payments and personal information
The service payment method is cash directly to the provider after the service. Doorstep does not collect service payments. Agree any change in price before additional work starts. Never share banking passwords, PINs or one-time codes.
Only add a location pin when you are at the service address. Review it before saving. Do not include access codes or unnecessary sensitive information in booking notes.
Report a concern
Use “Report a concern” on your booking, or our contact form with the booking reference and a factual description. Administrators may suspend customers or providers for violations and record a reason. Suspended accounts can view their appointment records and contact support to request a review. Do not send identity documents or sensitive evidence through the general contact form. It is not an emergency channel or a guarantee of an immediate response.
If there is immediate danger, move to a safe place and contact local emergency services. Doorstep does not provide emergency dispatch, insurance or guaranteed compensation.
